October 25, 2018, 1:30 p.m., INCREDIBLE INVERTEBRATES
This program will focus on basic classification skills with lots of opportunities to catch and release local insects, spiders, isopods, and gastropods.
November 29, 2018, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., EYE SHINE
Hike the trails in search of small and large (invertebrate and mammal) eyes in the woods. A narrow beam flashlight is a must to see the reflection of eyes.
February 28, 2019, 1:30 p.m., EAGLE VIEWING This program will start with a short lecture on the adaptations and history of the Bald Eagle in the United States. Then we will take short drive to a local nest to look for adults and eaglets.
March 28, 2019, 6:30 - 8 p.m., CAMPFIRE NIGHT HIKE Take a 1.5-mile night hike and visit the sandy shores of the Arkansas River. Help build a fire and roast some marshmallows.
April 25, 2019, 1:30 p.m., SPRING CREEK INVESTIGATION
With the use of collecting equipment, the group will visit our local stream to study the diversity of aquatic organisms. Warning: mud and wetness a great probability.
